How to Talk to Men

Do you ever hit a wall when you’re trying to communicate with your man?  Why is it that men don’t seem to be able to really hear and understand what we’re saying to them?   They just seem to understand what they want to hear, rather than what you’re actually telling them.

Well, the fact is that women and men communicate differently, and I would like to share how to actually get heard and understood by your man.  Here are some quick tips to better your communication.

Tip #1:

DON’T TALK IN CIRCLES

Women and men find it difficult to understand each other because men speak directly and to the point, and women speak around the point and expect men to ‘get it’.  Men just don’t get it.  They need for you to tell them exactly what you want.  Don’t give them hints.  Don’t give them clues.  They just can’t interpret them.  Get to the point, and the lines of communication will open up.

Tip #2

BE HONEST ABOUT YOUR NEEDS

Men actually feel good when they can fulfill their woman’s needs.  If you aren’t honest with your man about what you need, then he will never figure it out.  When my husband hasn’t taken me out for a while, I let him know that it’s time for a date, and I need romance.  He immediately starts to ask me what I would like to do and when my schedule permits a date.

Tip #3

BE WILLING TO SHUT UP

Women use a lot more words than men.  Sometimes it’s nice for a man if you let him do the talking, and you just listen.  Yes, that’s right.  Just stop talking and listen.  Listen to his dreams and goals.  Listen to his concerns.  When you’re listening, he feels like what he’s saying is important and he will open up more to you.  And think of this, sometimes it’s just nice to be in the moment and say nothing at all.  Just enjoy being together.
